The predicted salary is between 18 - 19 £ per hour.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support a main contractor delivering social housing works across Welwyn and Hatfield. This is a temporary role for an initial 16-week period, supporting the Site Manager with day-to-day site operations and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Manager with the daily running of social housing sites
  • Oversee subcontractors and operatives to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with health & safety regulations, company policies, and RAMS
  • Assist with site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings
  • Monitor progress against programme and report any issues or delays
  • Carry out quality checks and assist with snagging and handovers
  • Liaise with residents, client representatives, and supply chain partners as required
  • Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and documentation

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor within social housing
  • Experience working for a main contractor
  • Good knowledge of repairs, maintenance, voids, or planned works
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and site compliance
  • SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
  • CSCS card required
  • Good communication and organisational skills
