We are looking for an ambitious Financial Consultant to join a growing financial consultancy supporting businesses with financial analysis, commercial decision-making and funding strategy. This is not a traditional banking role. You will work across real commercial situations, helping clients understand their financial position, assess potential funding routes and make better-informed business decisions. The position offers exposure to businesses across multiple sectors and is particularly suited to someone who enjoys combining financial analysis with communication, problem-solving and commercial thinking. What You'll Be Doing Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing company financial information, management accounts and cash-flow positions.
- Building and interpreting financial models, forecasts and scenario analyses.
- Supporting clients in understanding their financial and commercial position.
- Assessing business funding requirements and researching suitable commercial funding options.
- Preparing financial summaries, reports and presentations.
- Comparing commercial finance structures based on cost, term, security requirements and business objectives.
- Conducting market, company and sector research.
- Supporting senior consultants with more complex client assignments.
- Liaising with lenders, finance providers and other professional parties where appropriate.
- Helping businesses prepare information required when approaching potential finance providers.
- Identifying financial risks, cash-flow pressures and potential areas for commercial improvement.
- Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring work is completed in accordance with internal compliance procedures.
Strong numerical and analytical ability. - A good understanding of financial statements and commercial finance.
- The confidence to communicate financial information clearly.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, or the willingness to develop them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in how businesses operate.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to manage several pieces of work simultaneously.
Previous consultancy experience is advantageous but not essential for candidates entering through the graduate or trainee pathway.
