Department: Operations / Compliance

Location: Multi-site – 6 Manufacturing Facilities (across the same industrial estate).

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Controller to lead and develop health, safety, and wellbeing standards across our manufacturing operations. This is a hands‑on multi‑site role responsible for ensuring compliance with UK health & safety legislation, promoting a positive safety culture, reducing operational risk, and supporting continuous improvement across all facilities. You will work closely with Coordinators, production teams, contractors, First Aiders, and Fire Marshals to ensure safe working practices are embedded throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health & safety policies and safe working procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with UK health & safety legislation and current regulations.
  • Conduct and review risk assessments across buildings, equipment, chemicals, and working procedures.
  • Carry out regular inspections and safety audits across all sites.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Promote a positive and proactive health & safety culture throughout the business.
  • Deliver inductions and coordinate staff training requirements.
  • Manage emergency procedures including fire safety systems and Fire Marshal coordination.
  • Provide professional guidance and support to managers and coordinators.
  • Monitor PPE provision and compliance across all operational areas.

About You

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum).
  • Previous health & safety experience within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation.
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • ISO 45001 Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
  • IOSH membership (TechIOSH / GradIOSH / CMIOSH).
  • Experience within multi‑site operations.
  • Environmental or sustainability knowledge.
  • Strong planning and organisational ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Practical problem‑solving approach.
  • Leadership and coaching capability.
  • Ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
  • Pragmatic and solutions‑focused mindset.
