Job Summary
We\\\’re looking for a Retrofit Site Inspector to ensure our retrofit projects are delivered safely, effectively, and to the highest standard. You\\\’ll be the eyes and ears on-site, working closely with coordination and delivery teams to ensure Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) comply with PAS 2035, building regulations, and REFYT\\’s quality standards.

Salary range: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE

Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections before, during, and after the installation of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs).
- Ensure all works comply with PAS 2035, relevant Building Regulations, and internal quality procedures.
- Monitor and report on the quality, safety, and effectiveness of insulation, heating, and ventilation systems.
- Maintain detailed photographic and written records for compliance, auditing, and funding purposes.
- Identify and follow up on defects or non-conformances with site teams and subcontractors.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, installers, and internal teams to maintain strong working relationships.
- Attend project meetings to provide input on feasibility, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Update internal systems with accurate and up-to-date site information.
- Escalate complex issues and contribute to process improvements across the business.
- Support wider business objectives through ad hoc projects and quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent), ideally including Maths, English, and a technical subject.
- NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or 4 in Construction, Building Services, or Site Supervision is preferred.
- Vocational qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or similar in construction, energy efficiency, or building studies.
- Relevant certifications in retrofit, energy assessment, and site safety, e.g., PAS 2035, Retrofit Assessor, Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), SSSTS.
- Practical experience in construction, maintenance, or retrofit projects is highly valued.
Experience
- 3-4 years of on-site and technical experience in building construction, maintenance, or retrofit projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) and construction detailing.
- Working knowledge of Building Regulations (especially Parts L, F, C, and O).
- Familiarity with PAS 2035 and retrofit frameworks (e.g., ECO4, SHDF, HUG).
- Confidence using inspection software, Microsoft Office, and project tracking tools.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to work.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
