Our fantastic client, a fast-growing beauty and wellness brand are currently seeking an experienced and commercially minded Strategic Data & Investment Analyst. This is a unique opportunity to sit at the heart of a successful, data-led brand, working directly with the CEO and leadership team to transform financial, sales and operational data into investor-grade insights. Overview: This is a highly strategic and analytical role responsible for building and maintaining the brands internal investor-grade data book. You’ll collate and interpret data from across all business units including sales, channels, financial reports and industry benchmarks to create cohesive, insight-rich reports and presentations. The mission is to help the business understand and communicate its value. The person will work closely with the CEO and marketing team to present commercial data with clarity and visual polish, transforming complex numbers into strategic decisions and investor-ready materials. This is not a direct accounting role however a deep financial understanding is essential. You should know what a margin means, why a contribution profit matters, how sales channels compare and what numbers truly drive valuation.
This role sits at the heart of the brands data infrastructure and supports both internal management decision-making and external investor readiness. The successful candidate will take ownership of building and maintaining the company’s internal Data Book - a master reporting tool that integrates financial, sales, operational and market data across all business units and territories. Interpret monthly management accounts, monitor performance across channels (TikTok Shop, Amazon, Shopify, offline sales), and transform raw data into dashboards, presentations and commercial insight that can be used to make confident, informed decisions about product development, campaign strategy, market expansion and more. You must have a strong grasp of financial metrics, without needing to produce the accounts themselves and be capable of shaping this data into clean, brand-aligned materials suitable for investor meetings, board presentations and internal performance reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Data Book & Reporting: Build and manage their internal strategic Data Book, combining financial, operational, and channel-level data into a single reporting system. Maintain updated views across sales performance, margins, CAC, AOV, growth, inventory movement, and more, presented in a visually clear and commercially meaningful format. Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly data summaries for internal management and investor readiness.
- Commercial & Financial Interpretation: Review and interpret management accounts across the UK, USA, and India. Translate financials into insight, including gross margin, contribution margin, channel profitability and cost structure trends, and present key learnings. Provide commentary and models that link financial performance to operational decisions and strategic direction.
- Internal Business Decision Support: Deliver data-driven recommendations for new product development, sales forecasting, marketing strategy, and stock and logistics planning.
- Competitor & Market Benchmarking: Conduct structured reviews of competitor performance and wider market dynamics. Track pricing strategies, category expansion, channel adoption, and international growth trends. Deliver market insights that support long-term brand positioning and investor storytelling.
- Presentation Design & Data Visualisation: Create clean, brand-aligned visual reporting in PowerPoint and Excel for internal strategy meetings, investor decks, and external pitches. Maintain branded templates and slide libraries aligned with the brands tone of voice and visual identity. Consolidate business KPIs into executive summaries and boardroom-ready materials.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across all departments including Amazon, TikTok, Shopify, Finance, Logistics and Product to consolidate data inputs and ensure accuracy across all dashboards. Set up and maintain KPI dashboards by department, reviewed in monthly and quarterly meetings. Act as a central liaison for all internal teams seeking commercial insight and reporting clarity.
About You
- Excellent grasp of financial reporting terminology and business performance metrics, including gross margin, contribution margin, EBITDA, CAC, and unit economics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) and PowerPoint, with a strong eye for layout and clarity.
- Experience compiling data from multiple tools such as Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, TikTok Shop, and management accounts.
- Clear, confident communication style and the ability to explain performance data in a strategic context.
- Proven track record in supporting decision-makers and shaping commercial strategy through numbers.
Nice to Have - Prior experience supporting M&A processes, investor readiness, or due diligence (in-house or via consultancy).
