THE ROLE
This role will support the creation and development of innovative, world-first product concepts. Reporting to the Head of NPD and working closely with the Manchester PD team, they will drive conception through to reality. This role combines creativity, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to deliver high-impact, best-in-class products that are built with and for the REFY community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead product development projects end-to-end with global suppliers, ensuring formulas and packaging meet brief, compliance, testing, and community needs.
- Define product direction using community, market, and trend insights to inform innovation and concept creation.
- Lead supplier innovation meetings, identifying and developing new formulas, textures, components and concepts.
- Source innovative formula bases and packaging.
- Plan and execute product testing strategies, ensuring inclusivity and strong community resonance.
- Support in building a London-based community network, running testing sessions and focus groups globally to gather actionable insights.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring clear planning, cross-functional collaboration, and on-time delivery.
- Partner with Packaging and Technical teams to bring concepts to life, ensuring quality and functionality.
- Manage costings, supplier negotiations, and CPAs to meet target margins and launch timelines.
- Identify and mitigate risks across product, quality, and timelines, maintaining REFY’s high standards.
- Deliver marketing handovers, ensuring clear communication of product USPs and positioning.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience (5+ years) in colour cosmetics product development, and some experience working with hybrid/skincare products.
- Strong expertise in formulation and shade development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver multiple projects end-to-end with ownership and accountability.
- Strong innovation mindset, with the ability to generate ideas and translate them into commercially viable products.
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with confidence working cross-functionally and with global suppliers.
- Strong understanding and passion for the beauty market, trends, and consumer behaviour.
