our customers expect. The Role This is a hands-on leadership position, combining your technical
expertise
with responsibility for guiding,
motivating
and managing the workshop team. Youll
work alongside the technicians when
required
, while making sure work is organised effectively, standards are
maintained
and the team has the support and direction needed to perform at its best. Your responsibilities will include: Leading, supervising and supporting a team of HGV technicians
Planning and
allocating
daily workshop workloads and priorities
Providing clear direction,
guidance
and technical support to the team
Setting expectations and ensuring
high standards
of workmanship,
productivity
and safety
Coaching and developing technicians and addressing performance issues where
required
Creating a positive,
professional
and accountable team environment
Diagnosing faults and carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs when
required
Overseeing vehicle inspections,
repairs
and road testing
Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales
Maintaining
accurate
service and maintenance records
Ensuring workshop equipment, housekeeping and health & safety standards are maintained
What
Were
Looking For Technical knowledge is important, but strong people management skills are essential. Were
looking for someone who: Has
previous
experience leading or supervising a workshop or technical team
Is a confident and effective people manager who can motivate,
support
and hold people accountable
Leads by example and is comfortable being hands-on when needed
Has strong HGV/commercial vehicle mechanical and diagnostic experience
Can organise workloads and manage competing priorities
Communicates clearly and professionally
Takes pride in delivering work to a consistently high standard
Has a proactive,
practical
and solutions-focused approach
Has a strong understanding of workshop health & safety
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant discipline is preferred. A full driving licence is
required
