Community Engagement Coordinator
We are looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Campaigns and Fundraising teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills across campaigns, public affairs, and community engagement. As Community Engagement Coordinator, you will:
- Coordinate our Speakers Community project, delivering talks about refugee rights to schools, universities, and groups across the UK.
- Develop plans for recruiting more grassroots campaigners to our team.
- Deliver excellent stewardship to our campaigners and fundraisers.
- Support the delivery of campaigning events and public affairs work.
Working across the Campaigns and Fundraising teams, you will help shift the narrative around people seeking safety in the UK to foster a welcoming and anti-racist society. This role is funded by the Aziz Foundation and is only open to someone with lived experience of forced displacement, with knowledge of issues affecting Muslim communities, and a long-term commitment to community and societal development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience delivering supporter care to campaigners or fundraisers with the ability to communicate effectively with volunteers, supporters, and campaigners.
- Ability to write compelling and engaging copy.
- Experience in grassroots campaigning and community organizing.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide logistical and administrative support.
- Passion and motivation to raise funds to support refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills for developing and delivering campaign events.
- Ability to collaborate and work supportively within a team.
- High attention to detail.
- Interest in campaigning and advocacy work.
- Understanding of cultural diversity and ability to work with people from various cultures.
- Commitment to removing barriers for people with lived experience and to anti-racist practices.
- Understanding of how the UK\’s hostile refugee protection and asylum system impacts affected individuals.
