We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Third in Charge to join our Nursery team in providing exceptional care and early childhood education to children in our nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being in a nurturing environment. The role would suit someone who has previously worked as an Early Years Practitioner then Room Leader and is looking for the next step up.

Main Duties:

  • Supporting the room leaders and practitioners to help manage their rooms and ensure the nursery standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Create an environment that supports the individual needs of all children.
  • Maintain systems to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of our childcare practices.
  • Maintain effective methods of communication with children, staff, parents, and carers.
  • Maintain open and positive working relationships with staff.
  • Ensure that practices and provision in the nursery meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Assist in agreeing and reviewing individual targets with staff.
  • Assume playroom and additional management responsibilities when required.
  • Keep costs in line with the agreed budgets.

Person Spec:

  • A minimum of a full and relevant level 3 childcare qualification.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
  • A Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience of observing, assessing and planning for children’s learning & development.
