We are seeking a dedicated and committed Deputy Manager to join our Nursery team in providing exceptional care and early childhood education to all the children in our nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children aged 0-5 years old, be used to leading a team of nursery practitioners, room leaders, and team leaders to ensure the safety, development, and well-being of the children in the nursery is the priority at all times. The role would suit someone who has previously worked as a Room Leader or Third in charge and is looking for the next step up or is currently working as a Deputy Manager at a setting. The role will also involve stepping in for the nursery manager in their absence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of nursery staff to ensure the highest standards of education and care are at the forefront of everything you do and all children receive a stimulating experience appropriate for their age and stage of development.
- Work with higher management to ensure the nursery is running in the best way it can and share common goals of any improvement.
- Maintain a stimulating environment for the children in the nursery setting.
- Make sure all compliance and legal ratios are met at all times.
- Motivating and monitoring the team to identify any additional training or support that may need to be given to staff.
- Interviewing and inducting all new staff joining the setting.
- Facilitate Ofsted inspection and any safeguarding matters.
- Be responsible for all administration duties associated with the nursery.
- Agree and deliver occupancy targets.
- Recruit, induct, support, train and appraise all staff to ensure delivery of high-quality childcare practice.
- Ensure that all staff develop and maintain friendly and professional relationships with parents and carers.
Person Spec:
- Hold a level 3 qualification or above within early years.
- Ideally have previous nursery management experience.
- Have excellent knowledge of EYFS guidelines.
- Hold 2 years’ experience of leading a team.
