We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Room Leader to join our team in providing exceptional care and early childhood education to children in our nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being in a nurturing environment. YOU MUST HOLD A LEVEL 3 QUALIFICATION IN CHILDCARE / EARLY YEARS OR EQUIVALENT FOR THIS ROLE. We are also looking for Level 2 and 3 practitioners for the setting.
Salary: £28,000 - £30,500 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Honor Oak
Duties:
- Provide high-quality care for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Support and supervise playroom staff with their day-to-day duties.
- Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote early childhood development.
- Deploy staff appropriately to ensure that the required standards are delivered and maintained within the rooms.
- Implementation of the nursery key carer procedures and allocate children to key carers appropriately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.
- Ensure the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive team approach to childcare.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play activities.
- Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress as required.
- Drive initiatives that promote leadership within the nursery setting.
Experience:
- Hold a level 2 or 3 qualification or above within early years.
- Have excellent knowledge of EYFS guidelines.
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education.
- A background in managing or leading teams within a nursery or similar environment is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
