We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Room Leader to join our team in providing exceptional care and early childhood education to children in our nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being in a nurturing environment.

YOU MUST HOLD A LEVEL 2 OR 3 QUALIFICATION IN CHILDCARE / EARLY YEARS OR EQUIVALENT FOR THIS ROLE.

Salary: £27,750 - £30,500 per annum

Hours: 35 or 40 hours per week

Location: Greenwich

Duties:

  • Provide high-quality care for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Support and supervise playroom staff with their day-to-day duties.
  • Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote early childhood development.
  • Deploy staff appropriately to ensure that the required standards are delivered and maintained within the rooms.
  • Implementation of the nursery key carer procedures and allocate children to key carers appropriately.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.
  • Ensure the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive team approach to childcare.
  • Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play activities.
  • Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress as required.
  • Drive initiatives that promote leadership within the nursery setting.

Experience:

  • Hold a level 2 or 3 qualification or above within early years.
  • Have excellent knowledge of EYFS guidelines.
  • Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education.
  • A background in managing or leading teams within a nursery or similar environment is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
