This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished refrigeration / AC installation and service engineer to join our family-owned company in the North West. You will be working for our established and valued customer base and will diligently provide excellent customer satisfaction to strengthen our brand and reputation. You’ll be working for existing and new customers which will present varied and exciting working environments. Primarily mobile, you will be performing in field reactive works, callouts and planned maintenance. A portion of your work will also include on site new A/C and VRF installations as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

This role focuses on installation, servicing, maintenance, and breakdown support across a portfolio of contracts. Ideal candidates will have experience of safe working within industrial, domestic and commercial properties, hold their F-Gas qualification and are required to undertake:

  • Fault diagnosis on electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components.
  • Planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Compressor changes, leak detection, and refrigerant recovery.
  • Organising parts and materials via our main office.
  • Extensive driving.
  • Accurate completion of paper & electronic job reports. Use of Ipads and Tablets for data entry.

  • Heat Pump Solutions Air / Ground source.
  • Cold rooms and walk-in freezers. Multideck and upright display refrigeration. Pack systems.
  • Remote condenser units.
  • Split A/C systems.
  • VRV/VRF & HVRF Systems.
  • MVHR Systems.
  • AHU’s and general HVAC.

The Person

Mandatory Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years past experience as a Refrigeration Engineer / Service / Installation Technician.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Airconditioning.
  • F - Gas Cat 1 (2079) certification.
  • CSCS card holder in date.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Mandatory Skillsets

  • Strong, autonomous fault finding and repairs, sound troubleshooting logic for small commercial. Experience of controls systems.
  • Pipe installation, bending, brazing, crimping. Ductwork & tray installation.
  • Working with F-Gas & Nitrogen – reclaiming, evacuation, recharging, charging, pressure testing.
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
  • Good with customers / Assertive in obtaining post completion payment.

Desirable

  • Level 3 in Refrigeration & Airconditioning.
  • Gas Safe Certificate.
  • Plumbing & Heating HVQ Level 2 or 3.
  • Experienced in Chiller fault finding and repairs.
  • 18th Edition (BS7671).
  • IPAF / PASMA.
