As the Continuous Improvement Team Lead, you will play a central role in delivering high-impact focused improvement projects across critical production assets. Leading from the front, you will identify performance gaps, shape data-driven improvement strategies, and design robust engineering solutions that drive measurable gains in efficiency, reliability, and cost.
Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will direct the execution of FIT initiatives—ensuring structured delivery, sustainable results, and the successful rollout of best practices across the site.
Role Purpose: The Continuous Improvement Team Lead plays a pivotal role in driving asset performance through focused, data‑led improvement. This role is accountable for identifying improvement opportunities, designing robust engineering solutions, and leading the execution strategy across the assigned asset or production line. While remaining hands‑on, the CI Team Lead provides clear technical direction, prioritisation, and structured delivery to ensure sustainable improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, prioritise, and define improvement opportunities across the assigned asset or line
- Design and develop effective engineering solutions, defining how improvements will be delivered
- Own technical decision‑making, including methods, sequencing, engineering approach, and resource requirements
- Translate operational problems into clear, executable plans for the CI Engineer and CI Technician
- Lead and deploy the Focused Improvement Team (FIT) programme in alignment with site‑wide initiatives
- Drive measurable improvements in OEE, waste reduction, downtime, line performance, and changeovers
- Coach, mentor, and develop the CI Engineer and CI Technician to build capability and performance
- Proactively remove barriers and elevate risks or issues where required
- Ensure replication and adoption of best practices and “smart ideas” across the site
- Provide regular progress updates to key stakeholders, including Project Delta governance
- Maintain accurate documentation, track progress against glidepaths, and support audit requirements
- Monitor and control costs, ensuring delivery within budget for all improvement activities
