As our in‑house expert, you’ll drive compliance, optimise tax positions, guide senior leaders and play a key role in strengthening governance while contributing to a culture that’s genuinely committed to being a Great Place to Work®.
To manage all Direct and Indirect tax activities for the Refresco UK business, including the review of tax preparation work done within the Financial Accounting and Treasury Team.
Key Responsibilities Of The Tax Manager- Lead UK tax compliance — oversee monthly processes, quarterly group reporting, annual corporation tax filings, and RDEC claims.
- Act as the in‑house tax expert — advise Leadership on tax matters, legislation changes, and implementation of required business changes.
- Review and optimise tax positions — assess company tax exposures, maintain a robust tax risk register, and provide recommendations to senior finance leaders and Group Tax.
- Support audits and governance — lead tax‑related audit activity, ensure SAO compliance, and oversee third‑party tax advisors.
- Provide coaching and oversight — review tax returns prepared by the Financial Accounting Team and offer technical guidance.
- Contribute to wider business objectives — deliver tax‑related project work, manage insurance processes.
The ideal candidate will be professionally qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) and bring strong experience from tax‑focused roles. They will have proven capability in managing HMRC interactions at both strategic and operational levels. They should demonstrate excellent technical accounting knowledge and be fully up to date with current legislation and accounting standards. Experience with Alcohol Duty will be considered a valuable asset.
