About The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee and ensure the accurate, timely, and reliable preparation and maintenance of the company\’s financial accounts. This is achieved in compliance with Fundamental Accounting Principles, the Refresco Group Accounting Manual, and the requirements outlined in the Companies Act.
Additionally, the role involves managing and continuously improving all financial accounting functions within the Business Unit.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities as Financial Accountant at Refresco
- Ownership of treasury and FX functions: Oversight of cash management, forecasting, variance analysis, payments, group cash pool operations, and liaison with corporate treasury.
- FX settlement and reporting: Monthly deal settlements with banks, reporting and analysis of FX results, hedging outlook, and accurate revaluation of foreign currency balances.
- Alcohol compliance management: Administer UK alcohol compliance, reconcile returns, lead steering meetings, oversee audits, and validate new customers for alcoholic products.
- Financial close and reporting: Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensure accuracy of submissions, handle AP balances, revaluations, and group reporting for subsidiaries.
- Balance sheet control and forecasting support: Reconcile accounts, post journals, provide inputs for budget/forecast activities, and submit national statistics surveys.
- Team and project support: Cover critical treasury tasks during absences and participate or lead assigned business projects.
About You
The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in managing cash flow, supported by a strong background in AR/AP. They will demonstrate proficiency in working with multiple currencies and bring experience in budgeting and forecasting within a large, complex organisation. A professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA (or be at finalist level) is essential, reflecting their technical capability and commitment to excellence.
