We are looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to lead technical training and train-out activities across our engineering department, improving the performance and reliability of our SIG filling and downstream packaging equipment within a fast-paced drinks manufacturing environment. This is a key engineering role focused on driving equipment reliability, supporting operational performance, and developing engineering capability across the site. You’ll act as the go-to specialist for complex fault finding, equipment optimisation, and technical training, helping to raise standards and knowledge across the wider engineering and production teams. About the Role: As the site specialist for SIG and downstream equipment, you will provide advanced technical support across production operations while leading knowledge development and best practice within the engineering team. A major part of this role will involve coaching and training engineers and operators to improve technical capability and strengthen frontline fault-finding skills across the factory.

About You: You will be a proactive and results-driven engineering professional with strong analytical capability and the ability to turn technical findings into meaningful operational improvements. We’re looking for someone who can work independently, influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across Engineering and Maintenance teams.

  • Act as the site technical specialist for SIG filling equipment and downstream packaging systems
  • Lead complex fault finding and root cause analysis activities across specialist machinery
  • Lead technical training and train-out activities across engineering and operations teams
  • Support engineering teams with advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Develop and deliver technical training and coaching for engineers, technicians, and operators
  • Create and maintain equipment standards, SOPs, and maintenance best practices
  • Work closely with OEMs and suppliers to support upgrades, improvements, and technical development
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and performance
  • Support commissioning, optimisation, and validation of equipment and production lines
  • Identify recurring issues and implement long-term engineering solutions
  • Promote a strong safety and quality culture across all engineering activities

We are looking for an experienced engineer with deep technical knowledge of specialist drinks manufacturing equipment and a passion for developing others. Experience working with equipment from Krones, KHS, Tetra Pak, Sidel, or similar OEMs is essential.

  • Extensive experience working with SIG filling equipment within FMCG, beverage, or dairy manufacturing
  • Strong technical knowledge of downstream systems including conveyors, palletisers, wrappers, labellers, and automated packaging equipment
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or training engineering and operational teams
  • Strong understanding of automated manufacturing systems, PLCs, drives, pneumatics, and controls
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to engineering challenges
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and support teams across the business
  • A recognised engineering qualification (Level 3 minimum or equivalent)
