In this key role you will lead UK direct and indirect tax across Refresco UK, shaping tax strategy and ensuring robust governance. You will partner with senior leaders to optimise tax positions and drive compliance, influencing business decisions with tax considerations. You’ll manage UK tax processes, support audits, and oversee external advisors, contributing to a performance‑driven, values‑forward culture. Responsibilities
- Lead UK tax compliance including monthly processes, quarterly reporting, corporation tax filings, and RDEC claims
- Act as in‑house tax expert to advise Leadership on tax matters and legislative changes
- Review and optimise tax positions, maintain tax risk register, provide recommendations to senior finance leaders
- Support tax‑related audits and governance, oversee third‑party tax advisors
- Coach and oversee tax returns prepared by the Financial Accounting Team, offering technical guidance
- Contribute to wider business objectives through tax project work and insurance process management
Key requirements
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
- Strong experience in tax‑focused roles
- Proven HMRC interaction experience at strategic and operational levels
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge and up‑to‑date with legislation and accounting standards
- Experience with Alcohol Duty (advantage)
- Stakeholder management
