About the Role
Manage and enhance all financial accounting activities in the Business Unit. The Financial Accountant acts as an entrepreneur and is committed to developing high performance teams and at the same time acts as a role model in terms of demonstrating and living Refresco’s core values and behaviours. Here are your key tasks and responsibilities as Financial Accountant at Refresco:
- VAT compliance — Manage UK VAT processes, monthly reconciliations, quarterly HMRC filings, and resolve VAT queries.
- Intercompany accounting — Coordinate UK intercompany reconciliations, validate costs, and resolve global intercompany issues.
- Financial close — Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Balance sheet control — Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and post journals.
- Forecasting support — Provide data and insight for budgeting and forecasting of intercompany balances.
- Cross‑functional contribution — Support Treasury, lead/participate in business projects, and contribute to Great Place to Work initiatives.
About You
The ideal candidate will be studying toward near‑completion of ACA, ACCA or an equivalent qualification and will have extensive experience either reviewing financial records for external audit or owning the audit process within an accounts department. They will bring strong experience preparing full statutory accounts within a large business, alongside practical exposure to FMCG and/or manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to identify and implement more efficient methodologies that improve speed and efficiency without compromising accuracy, as well as recognise opportunities to achieve cost savings while safeguarding the company’s financial and operational position.
