Pastoral leadership with a team of elders. Preaching, teaching, and counseling.

Position Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate who is qualified to be an elder and who holds to the doctrinal and theological convictions articulated in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. We believe in the central importance of the ministry of the word in the life of the church, and the candidate must therefore have strengths in preaching and teaching. He will also have abilities in pastoral care and oversight.

He needs to be fully sympathetic with the ethos of the church, which includes the following features that are important to us:

  • A family church of loving relationships
  • Oversight by a plural eldership of equals
  • A ministry that connects with this generation and the local community
  • An emphasis on evangelism

We are concerned to find a candidate who senses a call not just to any church, but to this church. We are praying that the Lord will provide the right man for this church at the right time.

As indicated above, we are open to considering a variety of transitional arrangements that will be mutually suitable and that will enable us to get to know each other well.

A less experienced candidate: in seminary or emerging from seminary without full-time pastoral experience, who may value overlapping with the existing pastor over a period of, say, 1-2 years, commencing in 2025 or 2026. This would provide opportunity for gaining experience in an established eldership without initially assuming sole full-time responsibility and allowing for the church and the candidate to get to know each other thoroughly.

A more experienced candidate: with pastoral experience whose circumstances allow for a move without disrupting another church, and whose availability may coincide more or less with our anticipated time horizon of 2027.

Application Deadline: 07/31/2025

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: TBD
