Do you have a heart for discipleship and a desire to walk alongside young women as they grow in Christ? Sycamore Presbyterian Church (PCA) is seeking a Christ-centered, ministry-minded woman to serve as our Assistant Director of Student Ministries. This is an exciting opportunity to invest in middle and high school students—especially girls—through intentional relationships, engaging programs, and the faithful teaching of God’s Word. You’ll work closely with our Assistant Pastor of Student Ministries as part of a passionate, collaborative team committed to nurturing faith, cultivating community, and reaching the next generation for Christ.

Position Qualifications:

  • Active Discipleship (60%) – The core and most essential aspect of the position.
  • Pursue and lead female students with intentionality through one-on-one meetings, group gatherings, home visits, and attendance at extracurricular activities.
  • Walk alongside young women in their faith journey, providing encouragement, biblical guidance, and mentoring in evangelism.
  • Maintain consistent communication via text, email, and other platforms.
  • Events and Communication (20%)
    • Assist in planning and executing Youth Ministry events such as Fall Tailgate, Christmas Party, Mission Trips, Evangelism Training, and weekly Youth Group gatherings.
    • Maintain a simple, effective social media strategy by scheduling weekly posts, running campaigns, posting regularly, and designing graphics for events, series, and promotions.
  • Facilitation and Coordination (20%)
    • Present the Gospel in an accessible, relevant way to strengthen covenant youth and reach unbelieving students.
    • With support from the Assistant Pastor, write and lead biblically-based lessons for Sunday School, Youth Group, Bible Studies, and one-on-one discipleship.
    • Help oversee Sunday morning Sunday School, stepping in to teach when needed.
    • Collaborate with the Assistant Pastor in planning curriculum, writing lesson content, and recruiting volunteer teachers.
    • Ensure all teaching is theologically sound and biblically faithful, fostering discussions that build students up in their faith.

    Expectations:

    • Become a communing member of Sycamore Presbyterian Church.
    • Attend weekly worship, staff meetings, and church-wide events.
    • Participate in annual reviews and goal-setting for Student Ministry.
    • Complete Ministry Safe’s Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Training (renewed every two years).
    • Abide by Sycamore’s Safety and Abuse Prevention Policy (Personnel Manual).
