ReFood’s anaerobic digestion (AD) plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a wide variety of food waste to produce renewable electricity, heat, and ReFood — a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. We also recycle food waste packaging, providing an environmentally sustainable solution for businesses seeking to divert food waste safely from landfill.
The Position
We are currently seeking a Technical Manager to join our team at ReFood Ltd, Doncaster. This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
As a Technical Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our AD plant. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing production process data and providing insight and reports to senior management.
- Working with the AD Supervisor to identify and resolve inefficiencies within plant operations.
- Supporting productivity optimisation through integrated process control functions.
- Investigating and reporting on any anomalies identified through data analysis.
- Ensuring compliance across operations, liaising with the Compliance Officer to maintain documentation, procedures, and training in line with legislative requirements.
- Supporting internal and external audits.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO9001, PAS110 and ADQP standards.
- Assisting with the implementation of new technologies and developments.
- Providing support for project management activities related to new or existing processes.
The Person
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree (or equivalent) and at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Working knowledge of anaerobic digestion or the waste/by-product sector, including process control logic.
- Previous experience in process plant operations — ideally involving biological processes or treatment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Effective written, verbal, and IT communication skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- A full driving licence and flexibility to travel to other sites when required.
