The company has an opportunity for an experienced Flexographic Printer at our site in Leicester.
Location: Leicester, UK
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: A rotating shift pattern of week 1: 6.00 – 14.00 Monday to Friday and week 2: 14.00 – 22.00 Monday to Friday
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage flexographic printing machines such as a 4‑colour narrow‑web Mark Andy flexographic press.
- Prepare the press for printing and troubleshoot any issues during printing.
- Monitor printing processes of presses to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions, adjusting as necessary.
- Maintain inks according to types of material being printed and work‑order specifications.
- Ensure all printing tasks are carried out to high standards and that the standards are maintained.
- Operate and maintain production speeds on your shift and set times to targets, recording/reporting in areas where this is not possible.
- Work constantly towards production improvements in methods, to eliminate potential quality problems and reduce downtime.
- Liaise with the supervisor and the production manager to achieve best possible machine utilisation with minimum wastage, while ensuring excellent quality, at best possible delivery dates.
- Work as part of a team supporting colleagues and sharing information.
- Follow all aspects of Quality Control and Quality Assurance in the Production Department and ensure accurate records are maintained.
- Ensure teamwork and maintain safe working systems to ensure personnel are kept free from injury and operations are safe and efficient.
- Ensure collaborative working within the Production Department via good communication.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in printing.
- Experience meeting SEDEX and ETI requirements (not essential).
- Experience working within a team with a good standard of communication.
