The company has an opportunity for an experienced Flexographic Printer at our site in Ossett.
Location: Ossett, UK
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: A 3-week rotating shift pattern of week 1: 6.00 – 14.00 Monday to Thursday and 5.00 – 13.00 Friday, week 2: 13.45 – 22.00 Monday to Thursday and 12.45 – 19.45 Friday and week 3: 22.00 – 6.00 Sunday, 21.5 – 6.00 Monday to Wednesday and 21.45 – 5.00 Thursday to Friday.
A flexographic Printer job requires you to manage flexographic printing machines such as a 10 colour narrow web servo-driven flexographic press. You usually prepare the press for printing and troubleshoot any issues during printing. Monitor printing processes of presses to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions, adjusting as necessary. Maintain inks and solvents according to types of material being printed and work order specifications.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To ensure all printing tasks are carried out to high standards and that the standards are maintained.
- To operate and maintain production speeds on your shift and setting times to targets and record/report in areas where this is not possible.
- To work constantly towards production improvements in methods, to eliminate potential quality problems and reduce downtime.
- To liaise with the production manager to achieve best possible machine utilisation with minimum wastage, while ensuring excellent quality, at best possible delivery dates.
- Work as part of a team supporting colleagues and sharing information.
- To follow all aspects of Quality Control and Quality Assurance in the Print Department and ensure accurate records are maintained.
- To ensure your teamwork and maintain safe working systems to ensure personnel are kept free from injury and operations are safe and efficient.
- Ensure collaborative working within the Print Department via good communication.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in Flexographic Printing.
- Experience meeting SEDEX and ETI Requirements (not essential).
- Experience working within a team with a good standard of communication.
- Experienced Flexographic Printer.
