Strides Katherine Price Hughes House (Strides KPH) is an Independent Approved Premises commissioned by the Ministry of Justice. Approved Premises play a vital role in the effective risk management of men released from prison, providing enhanced supervision, monitoring and rehabilitation within the community.
This post requires experience of working with complex and vulnerable individuals and an understanding of residential settings within the Criminal Justice System.
About the role
We are recruiting a Night Support Worker to provide waking night cover at Strides Katherine Price Hughes House. The role is key to maintaining a safe, secure and supportive environment overnight, working with residents who may present complex behaviours and needs. You will monitor residents, respond to incidents, maintain accurate records and work in line with Approved Premises policies and procedures. The role involves working a rota that includes weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Salary: £17.15ph PAYE / £22.78ph Umbrella
- Hours: 36.5 hours per week (rota including weekends and Bank Holidays)
- Contract: Full-time, temporary contract for six weeks
- Location: Strides Katherine Price Hughes House
- Reporting to: Service Manager
Overview of the Role
- Provide waking night supervision to ensure resident and premises safety
- Monitor behaviour, manage risk and respond to incidents appropriately
- Maintain accurate logs and records
- Promote equality, diversity and residents’ rights
- Support a calm, structured and pro-social environment overnight
- Experience working with diverse individuals with social or personal difficulties
- Experience working in a residential setting
- Experience managing or responding to challenging behaviour
- IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Good literacy and numeracy skills

- Willingness to work flexibly, including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays
