In this hands-on and rewarding role, you’ll gain valuable frontline experience supporting residents in an Approved Premises setting – helping to manage risk, promote rehabilitation, and ensure a safe environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise and support residents, ensuring safety and compliance with rules
  • Carry out building checks, monitor CCTV, and maintain secure curfews
  • Respond calmly to incidents and challenging behaviour
  • Conduct room searches, support medication routines, and assist with inductions
  • Be a key contact point during night shifts and emergencies
  • Maintain accurate records and incident reports

Who we’re looking for:

  • Risk assessment and offender management
  • Substance misuse and addiction
  • Mental health and safeguarding
  • Rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders
  • Criminology & Criminal Justice
  • Psychology (forensic, clinical, or counselling)
  • Social Work / Social Policy
  • Housing or homelessness services
  • Mental health or substance misuse support
  • Youth work, social care, or community roles
  • Security or frontline public-facing roles

Most importantly, you’ll be:

  • Reliable, observant, and calm under pressure
  • Flexible to work a 7-week rolling rota (including nights/weekends)

What’s in it for you:

  • Competitive hourly pay with enhanced unsocial hours rates
  • Structured rota for predictable shift planning
  • Valuable experience in a frontline criminal justice role
  • Pathway into Probation Services Officer / Probation Officer roles
  • Opportunity to work alongside criminal justice professionals
