We’re looking for a Trusts Lawyer with experience to join our busy and friendly team in Stamford, where heritage meets forward-thinking legal practice.
The Role
You’ll be working at the heart of a thriving Trusts practice, advising colleagues and clients on a wide range of complex and rewarding matters, including:
- Creation, administration and termination of new and existing Trusts
- Drafting deeds and Trust documentation
- Trust tax returns, accounts and use of HMRC Trust Registration Services
- Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax planning
- Business Property Relief and Agricultural Property Relief
- Declarations of Trust
- Wills involving Trusts and complex family arrangements
- Taxable and non-taxable estates
You’ll also collaborate closely with internal and external professionals to deliver seamless advice and exceptional client care.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Providing outstanding, ongoing support to existing clients
- Working with partners and fee earners to develop new business
- Helping to grow and shape the Trust department
- Managing your own fee-earning work and maintaining accurate records
- Keeping fully up to date with legal and legislative changes in your field
About You
You’ll be a Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Tax and Trust matters. A STEP diploma (or the willingness to study towards one) would be a real advantage.
You’ll also bring:
- A genuine passion for Trusts and Tax work with a commercial mindset
- Strong technical knowledge and awareness of legislative change
- Understanding of Money Laundering Regulations and Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Confidence, professionalism and tact when dealing with clients
- The ability to explain complex legal matters in plain English
- Excellent organisation skills—even under pressure
- Flexibility, drive, and yes… a sense of humour
Hours
Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:15 (36.25 hours per week)
