We are recruiting on behalf a well established and growing company based in Newark that is looking to add a motivated and organised Junior Logistics Coordinator to join their busy team.
This is a full time office based role with an salary of £26k DOE.
This is a great opportunity to build a career in a fast-paced industry with real training, development and progression. Down to the structure of the business, There may be multiple times where you'll be in high pressure situations so to be considered, you must be able to demonstrate you've been in high pressure situations and able to handle and carry yourself.
The Logistics Assistant plays a valued role in ensuring smooth, efficient operations and delivering the highest standard of customer service to both suppliers and customers. Working within the operations department you will collaborate closely with both your immediate team and wider colleagues across the business.
Key duties:
- Upload New Business Contracts; Add new contracted customers to the system, including uploading signed agreements and clearly highlighting any key contract terms.
- Track Weekly Contract Usage; Send out weekly contract balance reports and alert account managers if you see any issues developing.
- Support Monthly Planning; Share monthly forecasts with partners so they know what business to expect.
- Organise Transport Schedules; Create and update weekly loading schedules, and clearly communicate collection times, delays, or extra charges to all involved.
- Coordinate Customer Deliveries; Manage delivery schedules to UK customers, providing clear updates and estimated delivery times.
- Manage Documents for Orders; Make sure all order paperwork (like certificates, transport docs, invoices, and customs forms) is correctly uploaded and sent for clearance.
- Upload Weights for Invoicing; Enter loaded weights into the system quickly to help the finance team complete invoices on time each month.
- Support Customs Clearance; Handle first-stage customs clearance by sending the right documents to agents.
- Communicate Export Plans; Share shipping schedules with exporters and provide daily updates on port and vessel status.
You will need to have good attention to detail and good organisation skills when performing tasks. The ideal candidate must be able to work to deadlines and should be familiar with using Excel, Word and Outlook but training will be given on the in house system.
