As a Controls Systems Engineer, you will take ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning, working on a broad range of automation and control system applications. You will be involved in everything from design and programming to testing, documentation and on-site commissioning. Projects span multiple sectors including:
- Water & Sewage Treatment
- Pumping Stations
- Generator Control Systems
- Trace Heating
- Quarrying
- Manufacturing & Industrial Automation
No two projects are the same, offering an exciting and varied workload where your technical skills will be challenged and developed.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver PLC software projects from initial concept through to final commissioning.
- Design and develop automated control systems.
- Program PLC systems, primarily using Rockwell and Schneider platforms.
- Configure HMI and SCADA systems.
- Produce Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and test documentation.
- Conduct system testing and validation.
- Support on-site commissioning activities.
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Will be an engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Essential Skills & Experience:- Electrical Controls Design experience.
- Knowledge of motor starters, soft starters, inverter drives and low-voltage control circuits.
- PLC programming experience (Rockwell, Schneider and/or similar platforms).
- HMI programming experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- ECS/JIB or equivalent competency card for site work.
- SCADA development and configuration experience.
- Experience within water, wastewater, pumping or industrial automation environments.
- Competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000, depending on experience.
- 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
- Holiday entitlement increasing to 25 days after 5 years' service.
