We are looking for a licensed HGV Driver who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods and other articles of trade to our customers. This requirement is ongoing and is likely to be at least for six months. The successful candidates must have a clean Class 1 or Class 2 Driving Licence, current CPC Card, and ideally either Moffett or Palfinger truck experience but for an experienced driver, the company are prepared to offer to pay for the training for that if needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport products to our customers throughout the UK.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and report any issues at the earliest opportunity.
  • Liaise and verify instructions and schedules for deliveries and collections with the Despatch Department.
  • Ensure all goods are loaded and unloaded in a safe and secure manner at all times.
  • Ability to load and unload single and multiple drops in the agreed delivery order.
  • Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts on a weekly timesheet.
  • Download your taco card as per regulations.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maneuver vehicle into loading and unloading positions safely.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects, accidents or violations.

Personal Specification:

  • A minimum of 1 year proven work experience as a Driver.
  • All current medical and other regulatory documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL and CB etc.).
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly including availability for overnight away from home journeys.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • No recent moving or driving violations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
  • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
  • Valid truck driving licence.
  • Moffat or Palfinger experience preferred but not essential.

The remuneration for this is circa £32,000 (on a pro-rata basis) with an immediate start available. Full-time Hours: Monday to Friday | 07:00 Starts.
