My client based in the Vale of Belvoir is looking for an experienced Factory Line Leader to join their award winning team in their packing department. This role is full time, permanent and working hours are Monday to Friday 6.15am-3pm. Hourly rate is £14.16ph. Benefits to include pension, profit share scheme, discount portal.
As a Line Leader, you will report directly into the Team Leader, and you will be used to working in a fast‑moving multi‑disciplined environment, ensuring that schedules are achieved on time, to the specified cost, quality and quantity by the most efficient utilisation of resources available.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure all records where required, are completed accurately.
- Ensure staff use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where appropriate.
- Encourage, train, develop and motivate staff.
- Understand the production plan for your line, utilise the skills of your staff to maximise efficiencies, able to move staff to meet your plan.
- Ensure your line and associated equipment / staff are ready and available in advance, for the start of each shift and all associated change overs.
- Achieve set targets by reducing wastage and labour costs.
- Coordinate raw materials and packaging to line on a daily basis, with no production stoppages.
Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Self‑motivated and able to work with your own initiative.
- Experience of managing a production line with strong attention to detail and organisation skills.
- Be an excellent communicator.
- IT skills.
- Industrious and able to prioritise tasks to deadlines.
Desirable:
- Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (to be achieved within 12 months).
- Food/process manufacturing background.
- Knowledge and understanding of allergen awareness, food safety and health & safety.
- Understanding of Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Health & Safety trained in Manual handling, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
