Practical Law editors are experienced legal professionals who sit at the intersection of law, technology and the development of AI-driven legal solutions, such as CoCounsel.**About The Role**As a Senior Specialist Legal Editor in Practical Law, you will use your specialist legal knowledge of, and experience in, private client law and practice to create and maintain a wide range of content and to support the development of Thomson Reuters AI-powered legal solutions. Working in a supportive team of highly experienced colleagues, you will deal with a breadth of interesting work.**Major responsibilities/accountabilities:*** Research, write and maintain clear, current, and practical legal content aligned with market practice and customer needs, and business objectives.* Review and edit content written by others, whether by colleagues or external expert contributors.* Keep up to date with legal, practice and market developments to ensure content remains accurate, relevant and aligned with business objectives.* Use your legal expertise to support the development of customer-focused Thomson Reuters\’ AI-powered legal solutions.* Use your legal expertise and editorial skills to support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools.* Develop and maintain relationships with lawyers and industry groups to ensure content reflects current market practice.* Use your specialist legal knowledge to assist the wider Thomson Reuters team, working with product management, sales, marketing, and technology functions where necessary.**This is a part‑time position based on a four‑day workweek.****About You**You\’re a fit for the role if you are a UK qualified solicitor or barrister and have:* Substantial post-qualification experience of working as a private client lawyer in a law firm, in-house or at the bar in England and Wales.* Extensive experience of advising clients on complex wills and trusts; estate and succession planning, including inheritance tax (IHT), capital gains tax (CGT) and related reliefs (BPR, APR, RNRB).* Strong writing skills, and a passion for writing about legal practice accurately, concisely and in plain English.* A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively independently and in teams.* Strong technical skills and the ability to effectively utilize various tools, including generative AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy.* Adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects and tasks within the generative AI space as well as new and emerging technologies.* A curious mindset, including about the increasing intersection of AI and legal practice, adaptable and open to change.* Experience of using AI tools in legal work.#LI-AB3* **Hybrid Work Model:** We’ve adopted a flexible hybrid working environment (2-3 days a week in the office depending on the role) for our office-based roles while delivering a seamless experience that is digitally and physically connected.* **Flexibility & Work-Life Balance:** Flex My Way is a set of supportive workplace policies designed to help manage personal and professional responsibilities, whether caring for family, giving back to the community, or finding time to refresh and reset.
