Reuters News Agency is looking for a strategic and commercially minded Proposition and Commercial Strategy Manager to oversee our Sports vertical. You will partner with editorial, product, partnerships, marketing, and sales teams to build sports offerings that resonate with clients and drive commercial success, while continuously measuring performance to inform the direction that our services take next.
Reuters is entering one of the most exciting phases in its history. We are in the process of accelerating our expansion in the global sports content space and identifying other new markets (such as new customer segments and new use cases) to expand and scale further. The Agency Proposition & Commercial Strategy team is at the forefront of shaping Reuters News Agency’s growth by defining market opportunities, building compelling propositions, and driving commercial success.
While the primary focus of the role is Sports, you will also have opportunities to shape other emerging business opportunities. Experience in Sports is not mandatory, but a keen interest and understanding of the global sports industry would certainly be an advantage.
About the RoleAs Proposition and Commercial Strategy Manager - Reuters Agency, you will:
- Lead the proposition and market strategy of Reuters' sports offering. Conduct market and competitor analyses to identify emerging opportunities and client needs and scope and prioritise propositions aligned with Reuters strategic vision.
- Define and validate value propositions, supporting with research, customer insights, and business case development.
- Oversee Go‑to‑Market Planning & Execution by collaborating with product, partnerships and editorial teams to shape offerings, packaging, pricing, and messaging.
- Align with marketing and sales to define launch strategies, target segments, channel enablement and content plans whilst managing interdependencies across functional teams.
- Track and optimise performance. Define proposition-level KPIs and metrics to monitor adoption, engagement and revenue impact.
- Generate regular performance dashboards and analysis to recommend actions, conducting pricing and packaging reviews to optimise offerings and maximise value.
- Work cross functionally with internal stakeholders including editorial, product, partnerships, sales, marketing and finance to ensure cohesive execution.
- Contribute to strategic planning cycles by providing market intelligence and trend insights.
- Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making and commercial excellence.
You are a fit for the role of Proposition and Commercial Strategy Manager - Reuters Agency if you have:
- Demonstrable experience in proposition management, product management, go-to-market strategy or commercial strategy setting, ideally within news, media or sports setting.
- Experience of designing and delivering B2B or B2C propositions from ideation to market.
- Excellent analytical capabilities: comfortable with market research, financial modeling, and customer insights.
- Adept at stakeholder management, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- A strategic mindset, entrepreneurial acumen, and the ability to drive change.
- Clear communication—both written and verbal—with storytelling and presentation fluency.
