About the role

We are seeking a law graduate, with some experience in a legal or publishing environment, to join the Practical Law team in the UK. Practical Law is a leading online know‑how service providing peer‑reviewed resources such as practice notes, current awareness and standard documents to help legal professionals work smarter and advise with confidence. As an Assistant Editor in the Practical Law Global team, you will use your developing legal knowledge and experience to assist colleagues in creating, curating and maintaining a wide range of Practical Law content in a supportive global team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and maintain existing materials across a variety of formats.
  • Review and edit content written internally and externally.
  • Liaise with contributors regarding content and annual review requests.
  • Provide administrative and publishing support, ensuring compliance with technical and editorial requirements and maintaining the internal content database.
  • Participate in AI and LLM model activities, including experimentation, prompting and result evaluation.
  • Support the marketing of Practical Law Global content and collaborate with wider Thomson Reuters teams in sales, marketing, product management, technology and segment functions.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Law Degree (2:1 or above) or an undergraduate degree in a non‑law subject (2:1 or above) with a Graduate Diploma in Law.
  • Knowledge or experience in international or cross‑border legal practice or legal publishing, including editing content from contributors who do not use English as a first language.
  • Demonstrable interest and ability in legal writing, organising complex information in clear and engaging ways such as visual or interactive formats.
  • Knowledge or interest in AI and LLM models, including prompting techniques.
  • Enjoy working in a supportive, collegiate, and flexible environment with ample training and development opportunities.
