About Young Monzo
You’ll play a key role in evolving Monzo into a globally leading family bank, by building products that help parents support their children’s financial independence, safely, compliantly, and with a world-class experience across the whole “family journey” (Under 16s → 16–17 → adult Monzo). As the Product Manager for Young Monzo, you’ll own the strategy and delivery for how families join, set up, and use Young Monzo day-to-day across our Global markets. You’ll work in a cross-functional squad to create a product that kids love and parents trust—balancing growth, engagement and revenue opportunities with a high bar for safety, risk management, and age-appropriate design.
You will be expected to...
- Define the strategy: Build a product vision and strategy to evolve our experience from a great “kids account” into a cohesive family banking proposition—covering onboarding, parental controls, safety, and the full path to adulthood (Under 16s → 16–17 → adult Monzo).
- Build key capabilities: Design a seamless family onboarding experience so parents and children can get started easily, alongside intuitive parental controls and safety guardrails that enable independence.
- Enable everyday payments and money management: for kids within risk and compliance constraints, while creating a smooth graduation journey into adult Monzo and adapting the proposition for international markets.
- Collaborate effectively: Work with a diverse range of people—spanning engineering, design, data, user research, marketing, legal, finance crime and compliance—to get stuff done.
- Deliver impact: Help families discover and get the most out of features that build children’s financial confidence and independence, driving engagement, trust, and retention across the parent–child journey on Monzo.
We’d love to hear from you if…
- You have experience working in a related domain: You’ve managed products that balance multiple user needs and constraints—such as safety, trust, and usability—and understand how to design experiences that work for different customer groups within regulated environments.
- You are data-driven and commercial: You have a track record of collaborating with ML experts or data scientists to define key metrics, run experiments, and deliver business impact.
- You are a systematic problem solver and are comfortable with ambiguity: You can break down and solve complex, ambiguous problems where there is often no obvious "right answer."
- You have great judgement: You can make high-stakes decisions in complex situations, balancing business results with a passion for building value for customers.
- You challenge the status quo: You have the resilience and the urge to make things better, full of creative ideas on how to evolve our technology and user experience.
- You are intellectually honest: You are humble and curious, always striving for improvement and being honest about your work's performance.
- You have shipped at scale: You’ve got a track record of shipping successful, customer-centric digital products in a fast-growing company.
- You are a great storyteller: You can motivate, energise and inspire people across disciplines towards a common goal.
