Referment is working with a growing wealth management business to hire a Technical Business Analyst to help build and improve the technology and processes underpinning its financial advice proposition.

Sitting between technology, operations, compliance and financial advisers, you'll take ownership of how the firm's core systems connect and how processes and data move between them.

This is a highly hands-on role. You'll map processes, identify inefficiencies, configure systems, build automations and prototype solutions rather than simply writing requirements for somebody else to deliver.

A major part of the role will involve ownership and development of Zoho CRM, alongside the wider ecosystem of technology used by advisers and operations teams.

The Role

You’ll Be Responsible For

Process & Business Analysis

  • Mapping end-to-end financial advice, operational and client servicing processes
  • Documenting current and future-state processes.
  • Identifying bottlenecks, manual workarounds, duplication and control gaps.
  • Producing requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Translating requirements between advisers, operations, compliance and technology teams.

CRM & Solution Delivery

  • Owning and improving the configuration of Zoho CRM.
  • Building workflows, modules, layouts, automation, reports and dashboards.
  • Rapidly prototyping new workflows and solutions with users.
  • Taking successful prototypes through testing and into production.
  • Gathering feedback and continuously improving delivered solutions.
  • Using low-code and no-code technology to automate manual processes.

Systems & Data

  • Mapping data flows across CRM, adviser, back-office and financial planning systems.
  • Improving data quality, consistency and auditability.
  • Reducing manual data entry and duplication through integrations and automation.
  • Supporting system integrations, migrations and technology rollouts.
  • Helping assess and onboard new technology providers.

Training & Adoption

  • Training financial advisers, paraplanners and operations teams on new systems and processes.
  • Creating guides, process documentation and training materials.
  • Supporting users as new technology is introduced.
  • Acting as a subject-matter expert for the firm's advice technology.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Maintaining and prioritising a backlog of technology and process improvements.
  • Measuring whether changes are delivering the expected benefits.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to help shape the firm's future technology ecosystem.
  • Exploring opportunities to use AI and automation across the advice process

What We're Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst within financial services.
  • Strong process mapping and requirements gathering skills.
  • Experience producing as-is/to-be processes, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Hands‑on experience configuring and improving CRM systems.
  • Experience building workflows and automation rather than solely defining requirements.
  • Strong understanding of systems integrations and data flows.
  • Experience rapidly prototyping and testing solutions with users.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience training and supporting non-technical users.
  • An understanding of working within an FCA-regulated environment.

Experience within wealth management, financial advice or an IFA business would be particularly valuable.

Hands‑on Zoho CRM experience is strongly preferred, particularly around workflows, blueprints, reporting and automation.

Experience with Zoho Creator, Zoho Flow, Zoho Analytics, low-code/no-code platforms, AI tools or financial advice technology would also be valuable.

This could suit a Technical Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, CRM Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or Business Analyst who enjoys building and implementing solutions rather than operating purely as a requirements-gathering BA.
