Senior Product Manager - RegTech (11DF3F6)

Referment is working with a financial compliance software business to hire a Senior Product Manager for its trade surveillance product. The product helps financial institutions identify potential market abuse within large volumes of trading activity, while reducing alerts that distract investigators from meaningful risks.

You will own the direction and priorities of this product area, working directly with compliance users to understand how surveillance operates in practice. The challenge is to turn complex customer problems into decisions that improve the product, rather than treating every request as another roadmap commitment.

This is a hands-on product role spanning discovery, prioritisation and delivery. You will work with engineers, data scientists, regulatory specialists and customer-facing colleagues, bringing their perspectives together without needing to be the deepest regulatory expert yourself.

The Role

• Set the product roadmap and explain the choices behind it, balancing customer needs with commercial and technical considerations.




• Work with compliance and surveillance teams to understand their investigations, challenge assumptions and identify the problems worth solving.




• Translate those problems into clear priorities for engineering and data science, utilizing AI, machine learning, and generative AI to drive better detection and fewer false positives.




• Use customer feedback and product evidence to assess whether changes are improving surveillance workflows, focusing on measurable outcomes such as productivity uplifts and feature adoption.




• Partner with regulatory specialists and Customer Success so delivery reflects both compliance requirements and practical use.




• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure product decisions connect with the wider platform, avoiding decisions that solve one client’s problem at the expense of the broader offering.

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience owning a complex B2B SaaS product within the financial services or RegTech sector, with a proven track record of driving product strategy and delivery.




• Direct experience in Trade Surveillance or closely related regulatory technology is essential for this role.




• Hands-on experience delivering AI/ML or data-driven product features, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked with generative AI technologies.




• A background in financial services or compliance, with the ability to develop a detailed understanding of complex regulatory problems. A legal or regulatory academic background is highly desirable.




• Credibility with senior customers, including the confidence to challenge a request and explain a difficult prioritisation decision based on product evidence.




• Technical confidence around data and algorithms. You do not need to code, but should be able to question assumptions and understand engineering trade-offs.

This role is ideal for a product manager from a complex financial or regulatory workflow background who enjoys working closely with specialist users and delivering high-impact, data-driven solutions.
