Referment is working with an established financial technology business to hire a Product Specialist focused on the development of its trading and trade-management platform.
Sitting within Product, you'll take ownership of the functional requirements around the complete trade lifecycle, helping define how trades are captured, booked, processed, controlled and ultimately settled.
This is a highly domain-focused role sitting between Trading, Operations, Risk, Product and Engineering. We're therefore looking for someone who combines strong derivatives and front-to-back trading knowledge with the ability to translate complex workflows into clear functional requirements.
The Role
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Defining functional requirements across the complete trade lifecycle.
- Designing workflows covering pre-trade checks, trade capture, booking, lifecycle events and termination.
- Writing clear, structured requirements and user stories in JIRA.
- Defining booking structures including legal entities, desks and books.
- Specifying workflows between trading platforms, execution venues and clearing systems.
- Defining downstream integrations with settlement, payments and back-office systems.
- Owning requirements around trade-level cash flows, including amendments, netting and settlement status.
- Ensuring trade workflows support downstream P&L and risk requirements.
- Defining controls, permissions and approval processes.
- Working with UX and Design on trade-management and operational interfaces.
- Developing functional test cases and supporting UAT.
- Acting as the functional subject-matter expert for Engineering.
- Working closely with trading, operations and risk users.
You’ll Need
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years' experience with trade-management or front-to-back trading systems.
- Strong understanding of the derivatives trade lifecycle.
- Good knowledge of clearing, settlement and cash-flow processing.
- Experience across multiple asset classes.
- Understanding of risk concepts including PnL, sensitivities, VaR and exposure.
- Experience with trading venues, clearing platforms or other upstream trading systems.
- Understanding of downstream payments, settlement and back-office systems.
- Experience translating complex business requirements into functional specifications.
- Strong JIRA requirements and user-story experience.
- Excellent communication skills across technical and business stakeholders.
We're particularly interested in people who understand how a trade moves through a financial institution from initial execution through to its eventual settlement and can translate that knowledge into technology requirements.
This could suit a Trading Business Analyst, Front Office Business Analyst, Product Specialist, Trading Systems Analyst, Product Owner or Product Manager with strong derivatives domain knowledge.
