Referment is working with an FCA-regulated global payments and e-wallet platform that helps businesses accept online payments, manage balances across currencies and pay out worldwide. From its London office, the business development team wins new merchants across fintech, gaming and other online sectors, and this role is the entry point to that team.

As a Sales Development Representative, you'll work closely with business development managers to find and pursue new opportunities. It is a hands-on grounding in payments sales: you'll prospect and qualify leads, then support the team across the whole sales process, preparing decks, proposals and service agreements, working with project managers, and seeing each new merchant through to handover to account management. You'll also attend industry events and trade shows, shadowing experienced sellers while building your own product knowledge and contact book. The company sees this as a genuine stepping stone into broader business development, sales or product management responsibilities.

The Role

  • Research and develop new business opportunities by prospecting potential clients and generating leads.
  • Support the sales process with potential merchants, from lead generation and preparing decks, proposals and service agreements, to working with project managers through to handover to account management.
  • Keep activity and lead-qualification records accurate in the CRM system.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows, shadowing the sales team while generating new leads and contacts.

What We're Looking For

  • One to three years' experience in B2B sales, lead generation or business development, ideally in fintech, payments, SaaS or a start-up.
  • A proven track record of hitting sales targets or managing lead-generation campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal English, with confident pitching and writing.
  • An energetic, engaging communicator who can hold fintech and gaming conversations.
  • A self-starter who thinks quickly, spots opportunities and market trends, and adapts to fast decisions and feedback.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product, operations and marketing.
  • Willingness to travel for business.

Useful Additional Background

  • A degree in administration, marketing, business or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the fintech ecosystem, such as PSPs, digital wallets, merchant tools or compliance platforms.

The role is office-based in London, and you'll need the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship and relocation support are not offered.

This could suit an early-career B2B seller or lead-generation specialist who wants to specialise in payments and fintech, with a clear path into full business development.
