Referment is working with a UK-regulated bank that specialises in cross-border payments and FX across emerging and frontier markets. Its clients range from banks and fintechs to corporates and public-sector organisations, and its proposition is built around moving money reliably through markets that are hard to reach.
This is a senior commercial and product leadership mandate covering the organisation's global payments and FX propositions. You will shape, prioritise and deliver a commercially driven product roadmap that supports client growth, revenue generation and the organisation's strategic objectives, working closely with senior colleagues across product, commercial, technology, operations, trading, treasury and strategy.
You will also act as a key contributor to a group-wide product transformation programme and lead the identification and embedding of AI-enabled opportunities across the front office, spanning productivity, client engagement, market insight and execution.
The Role
- Own and deliver the payments and FX product roadmap in partnership with senior payments and sales leaders, focusing investment on the highest-value commercial opportunities.
- Represent global sales and client requirements, prioritising them by region, sector and commercial potential and translating them into differentiated, scalable propositions.
- Act as a front-office representative on the organisation's wider product and business transformation programme, keeping it commercially focused and measurable.
- Lead AI adoption across the front office, identifying, prioritising and embedding use cases across sales, trading and treasury to lift productivity, client engagement and revenue.
- Establish strong product development, governance, prioritisation and commercialisation disciplines, and build a culture of pace, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Track global payments, FX and fintech trends by region and sector, turning emerging developments into product opportunities and competitive advantage.
- Support the commercialisation of stablecoin-enabled payments and FX solutions, working across product, technology, risk, compliance and sales.
- Partner with sales on go-to-market readiness and co-own commercial KPIs covering client acquisition, adoption and wallet growth.
What We're Looking For
- Significant senior-level experience in financial services, fintech, payments, FX, transaction banking or a comparable commercial and product environment.
- A proven track record leading payments, FX or financial-markets product strategy, roadmap development and commercialisation.
- Strong understanding of cross-border payments, FX products, client propositions, market infrastructure, regulatory expectations and operational delivery.
- Demonstrable experience turning client, market and sales requirements into scalable, commercially viable propositions.
- Experience leading or contributing to major product or digital transformation programmes, with evidence of measurable commercial outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen, with a record of supporting revenue growth, client acquisition, product adoption and improved client outcomes.
- Prior leadership experience with senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams or direct reports.
- Comfort operating in a regulated banking environment, with sound judgement around governance, conduct, risk and control.
Useful Additional Experience
Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience, ideally in finance, economics, business, technology or product management; professional qualifications in payments, treasury, financial markets, change management or digital transformation; and hands-on experience using data, technology or AI-enabled solutions to improve sales effectiveness or decision-making.
This could suit...
A senior product leader from a payments provider, FX specialist, transaction bank or fintech who has owned cross-border payment and FX propositions end to end and wants a mandate that spans product strategy, commercialisation, transformation and AI adoption.
