This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior commercial lawyer looking to combine high-quality legal work with leadership, business development, and strategic responsibility. Working with innovative technology companies, you'll become a trusted adviser to founders and executive teams whilst leading and growing a talented Commercial practice.
The Role
You'll lead a team of experienced commercial lawyers while maintaining your own portfolio of clients. This is a leadership role with genuine influence across the business, combining legal excellence with commercial ownership, people management, and strategic board-level advisory. You'll play a key role in developing both the team and the firm's continued growth, driving legal operations and tech-enabled delivery to ensure the practice remains at the forefront of the market.
Youβll Be Responsible For
- Leading and mentoring the Commercial team, including managing significant functions and driving team performance
- Managing key client relationships and acting as a strategic adviser to CEOs, Founders, and Boards
- Advising on complex commercial contracts, specifically focusing on SaaS, MSAs, and technology agreements
- Driving legal operations and tech-enabled delivery, including legal automation and workflow improvements
- Supporting business development initiatives and the firm's continued expansion
- Recruiting, coaching, and developing a high-performing team of lawyers
- Acting as a senior technical adviser across the practice
We're Looking For
- Qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, or equivalent overseas jurisdiction)
- Significant experience in complex commercial contracting, with specific expertise in SaaS, MSAs, and technology agreements
- Proven leadership experience managing significant legal teams or functions, ideally within a high-growth or scaling environment
- A strong background in high-growth technology, SaaS, or Fintech sectors
- Experience in tech-forward, in-house leadership environments rather than a purely traditional law firm background
- Strategic advisory skills with experience contributing at the Board or Executive Committee level
- An entrepreneurial mindset, with an interest in legal operations and tech-enabled delivery
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
