Legal Analyst and Contract Negotiator (London) (263CC14)

Referment is working with a global investment firm to find a legal analyst and contract negotiator for its London legal and compliance team. You will support investment transactions by reviewing and negotiating agreements, working directly with front-office and legal colleagues in London and collaborating with teams in the United States and Asia.

The role provides practical exposure to complex transactions and the legal, commercial and regulatory issues around them. It is open to candidates with strong relevant experience even without a formal legal qualification.

The Role

• Review, negotiate and maintain agreements connected with investment transactions, including confidentiality agreements and engagement letters.
• Work with legal, compliance and front-office teams on deal execution and related activities.
• Coordinate with international colleagues across multiple time zones and jurisdictions.
• Support projects improving the legal infrastructure around the investment process.
• Assist periodically with regulatory and compliance matters connected with European activities.

What We're Looking For

• A bachelor's degree and two to four years of professional experience.
• A clear interest in complex investment transactions and their legal and commercial risks.
• Excellent organisation, analysis, editing, proofreading and project management.
• Close attention to detail and the judgement to handle sensitive work carefully.
• Experience as a legal assistant, paralegal or contract reviewer is preferred, but formal legal experience is not mandatory.
