Junior Developer (6A5FBA5)

Referment is working with a London-based foreign exchange and payments specialist that builds much of what it runs day to day in-house. Software isn't a support function there — it's a core part of how the firm moves faster than businesses many times its size. They are now hiring a Junior Developer to work directly alongside the Lead Developer.

This is a genuine building role, not a maintenance seat. You'll be handed a problem rather than a ticket and a spec, and work out what needs building — with structured coaching from the Lead Developer, genuine ownership from early on, and room to grow as the engineering function expands. The role is office-based in central London, five days a week.

The Role

• Work alongside the Lead Developer to build and maintain the internal tools that power the firm's operations.
• Scope problems directly with the teams who use those tools.
• Integrate with third-party systems.
• Flag risk early, particularly anything touching client money.

What We're Looking For

• 0–3 years in development, with a working understanding of at least one programming language — the team mostly uses Python and JavaScript.
• Comfort with APIs, databases and version control.
• Fluent, critical use of AI coding tools in your workflow.
