Base pay range
Referment are working with a boutique, research-driven hedge fund in London who are looking to hire their first Junior AI Engineer. This is a unique opportunity for a recent STEM graduate (2:1 or above) with a strong interest in finance and fundamental research to join a highly respected investment team. The successful candidate will help automate and streamline a wide range of processes – from generating reports on company financials to analysing complex bond documentation – ultimately supercharging analysts’ productivity and giving them more time to focus on investment opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Build AI-powered tools to automate repetitive research tasks
- Analyse financial and legal documents using machine learning
- Develop workflows that generate insights for the investment team
- Work closely with analysts to understand processes and design automation solutions
- Explore new AI and data-driven approaches to improve efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum 2:1 degree in a STEM subject (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics etc.)
- Solid programming skills in Python (experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch/TensorFlow is a plus)
- Demonstrable interest in finance and credit markets (coursework, projects, or internships)
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to tackle unstructured challenges
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
