Referment is working with an established regional law firm seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor for its Huddersfield team. The practice advises clients on probate and trust matters and is looking for a solicitor who can manage a varied caseload while maintaining a consistently high standard of care.
You’ll progress matters efficiently, keep clients clear on both progress and costs, and work as part of a wider team with shared professional and quality standards. The role is full-time and permanent, with hybrid working available.
The Role
- Run a varied private client caseload, including taking over existing matters where required.
- Progress files promptly and keep clients regularly informed about their matter and associated costs.
- Deliver careful, professional advice while protecting client confidentiality and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Meet agreed billing and time-recording expectations and work in line with professional conduct, accounts and internal quality requirements.
- Build effective relationships with colleagues and relevant external organisations.
- Support and develop immediate support staff, and contribute to internal training, where requested.
- Help promote the team’s services through appropriate client and marketing activity.
What We're Looking For
- A solicitor admitted to the Solicitors’ Roll, ideally with at least ten years’ post-qualification experience.
- Strong private client experience and confidence managing a broad caseload with appropriate independence.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-centred approach, particularly when handling sensitive matters.
- An organised, self-motivated working style, with strong written, digital and file-management skills.
- A collaborative colleague who communicates clearly and contributes positively to the wider team.
This could suit an established Private Client or Probate & Trusts Solicitor looking for hands-on case ownership in a collaborative regional practice, with the option of hybrid working.
