Referment is partnering with a fast‑growing, founder‑led law firm to hire an exceptional Senior Associate to join their ambitious and close‑knit team. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who wants to work at the heart of the UK tech and fintech ecosystem, acting as outsourced General Counsel to high‑growth businesses.

The successful candidate will take the lead across several key clients, working closely with founders, senior stakeholders and fellow Associates to provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is an excellent commercial and/or technology lawyer with strong ambition and entrepreneurial energy
  • Has meaningful in‑house experience, whether permanently or via secondment
  • Understands the realities and pressures of scaling a business
  • Builds trusted relationships with clients and enjoys becoming embedded in their businesses
  • Has experience within fintech, with exposure to payments and/or Open Banking particularly valuable
  • Is collaborative, personable and enjoys working as part of a high‑performing team
  • Ideally has leadership experience, whether managing teams or building a business of their own
  • Is UK qualified (or qualified in another common law jurisdiction)

This role would suit a mid‑level or senior associate who is looking for more responsibility, closer client relationships and the opportunity to help shape a modern law firm during a significant period of growth.
