Referment are working with a leading construction business to support the hire of a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team, delivering large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK. There are multiple opportunities covering all regions. This is a site-based role (5 days per week), offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-value projects from early-stage procurement through to final account.

The Role

  • Managing the commercial aspects of projects, including:
  • Preparing tender and contract documentation
  • Cost planning, analysis, and control
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and payments
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and variations
  • Supporting project delivery teams with forecasting and cost reporting
  • Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Producing final accounts and ensuring financial accuracy across projects

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying
  • Background working with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
  • Experience on civils or large-scale construction projects
  • Exposure to UK-based projects is highly desirable
  • Qualifications (one or more):
  • HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)
  • Membership (or working towards) with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (e.g. MRICS)
  • BTEC / HNC / HND in Building Studies, Engineering or Management
  • CSCS Card (desirable, not essential)

Additional Requirements

  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
