Referment is partnering with Kilnbridge, a leading UK engineering and construction specialist, to appoint a Direct Procurement Manager to lead and evolve its direct materials procurement function. This is a senior, high-impact role offering real ownership across strategy, supplier frameworks, and team leadership within a complex, fast-moving construction environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Head of Procurement, you will take responsibility for all direct procurement activities across the Kilnbridge Group, managing a team of buyers and working closely with bid and project teams to deliver commercial value, manage risk, and strengthen supply chain performance. This role blends hands-on procurement delivery with strategic leadership, supporting Kilnbridge's ongoing procurement maturity and transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Direct Materials Procurement team
- Establish and manage group-wide supplier agreements and frameworks
- Negotiate commercial terms, SLAs, and KPIs
- Drive risk mitigation and cost optimisation initiatives
- Use market intelligence to inform procurement strategy
- Partner with senior stakeholders across projects, finance, H&S, quality, and sustainability
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice
About You
- Strong experience in direct procurement within construction or engineering
- Proven track record delivering 1–3 year procurement strategies
- Confident negotiator with solid contractual and legal knowledge
- Experienced people leader with a collaborative, performance-driven mindset
- CSCS qualified (CIPS desirable, not essential)
- Comfortable operating in high-stakes, stakeholder-heavy environments

- Location: Head Office – E16, London
- Hours: 08:30 – 17:30 (flexibility required)
- Contract: PAYE (monthly)
