Referment is working with a not-for-profit financial services organisation that supports long-term savings for a large member base. The organisation is looking for a Product Owner to shape and deliver digital identity-verification and biometric capabilities in a regulated environment.
You will turn business objectives into a clear, prioritised backlog for a cross-functional Agile team. Working closely with the Product Manager, Business Analysts, UX, Design and Engineering, you will lead work from discovery and service design through delivery, measurement and continuous improvement. The role calls for someone who can balance customer needs with technical feasibility, operational impact, accessibility, risk and compliance.
The Role
- Help shape the product roadmap and translate strategic priorities into actionable outcomes for delivery teams.
- Lead discovery for new features and improvements, using customer insight, product data, operational feedback and stakeholder input.
- Own and prioritise the backlog, keeping work aligned with roadmap goals, business value, delivery capacity and technical constraints.
- Work with Business Analysts to define user journeys, user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with UX, Design and Engineering to develop customer-focused, accessible and technically viable solutions.
- Facilitate refinement, sprint reviews and product demonstrations, while managing risks, dependencies and competing stakeholder expectations.
- Monitor delivered features and communicate outcomes, performance and upcoming priorities.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with identity verification and biometric solutions.
- Previous Product Owner or equivalent experience in an Agile software-delivery environment.
- Experience in financial services or another heavily regulated sector.
- A strong record of owning and prioritising product backlogs and working confidently with engineering teams.
- Practical service-design or customer-experience-design experience.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Miro and Figma, plus analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Contentsquare.
- CSPO, PSPO or an equivalent Agile product qualification.
