Business and Account Manager (A591F39)

Full-Time On-site

Referment is working with a social-impact technology business that provides benefits-calculation and data-analytics software to public services, housing providers, charities and financial organisations. Its products help organisations identify support for low-income households, analyse local data and improve safeguarding decisions.

This is a consultative sales and account-management role with end-to-end ownership. You will develop new business, manage established client relationships and work with senior public-service decision-makers as well as operational teams. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will collaborate with policy specialists, analysts, engineers and marketing colleagues to connect client needs with the right software and services.

The Role

  • Build your own pipeline through structured prospecting and develop new markets rather than relying only on referrals.
  • Manage sales cycles that can run for three to twelve months, from first conversation and discovery through demonstration, objection handling and close.
  • Sell analytics, benefits-calculation, safeguarding and policy-modelling solutions to local authorities, housing organisations, advice services and selected third-sector and private-sector clients.
  • Build long-term relationships across senior leadership, service heads, team leaders and frontline users.
  • Retain and renew existing accounts, identify relevant expansion opportunities and maintain accurate records and reporting.
  • Refine consultative sales approaches and share effective scripts and processes with the wider sales team.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong record of building a pipeline from scratch and winning business through proactive prospecting.
  • Experience managing a full, target-driven sales cycle and maintaining conversion discipline at each stage.
  • Confidence discussing operational challenges with senior decision-makers and translating them into a clear commercial case.
  • Strong organisation, critical listening and relationship-management skills, with the independence to manage your own activity and region.

Relevant Desirable Experience

Experience selling into UK public services, housing, charities or other complex stakeholder environments would be useful, as would exposure to long sales cycles, field-based work, renewals and account expansion.

This could suit an experienced business development or account-management professional who enjoys combining new-logo sales with ongoing client ownership and wants their work to support better outcomes for people on low incomes.
